Chrysosplenium (Saxifragaceae) BSWJ6173

macrostemon v. shiobarense

From moist well shaded hillsides of Central Kyushu Japan. Our collection of this creeping perennial, forming large rosettes of prettily marked and serrated ovate leaves. Rooting at the nodes it produces an impenetrable mat, covered in early-late spring with bright pale-yellow bracts. Best in a moist acid soil.
