Intriguing species which forms colonies to 10m across in the wild, of laxly upright purplish stems to 1.5m tall. With compound leaves comprised of narrowly elongated or broadly lanceolate leaflets and terminal flat-topped umbels of white flowers held in small globose umbels, followed by crescent-shaped winged seed in tight clusters. Our collection from Volcán Zunil, Guatemala, where it grew at 3300m. Best grown in a well drained moisture retentive soil, with protection from severe weather.
