A highly prized deciduous small tree or large erect shrub with small dark glossy green pinnate foliage. Valued not only for its autumnal hues, but also an outstanding summer display in July-August of large saucer-shaped white flowers to 6cm across, filled with dark tipped long stamen. Best grown in lime free fertile soils that are freely drained, in good light.
