A wonderful Umbelliferae species I collected seed of at high altitude in the Zhongdian area of Yunnan, China. With robust vertical purple stems to 1.2m high, bearing pinnately arranged and serrated leaflets on coloured midribs. With a large terminal umbellate inflorescence of pinkish flowers backed by pale involucre bracts. Easily cultivated in any free draining soil that does not dry out, best in sun to part shade.
