A creeping herb forming small colonies of prostrate stems bearing soft grey-green digitate leaves and upright flowering spikes of blue-purple pea flowers to 40cm tall. Where we found this unusual lupin growing high up in the clouds on Cordillera de Talamanca in southern Costa Rica in 2004 at over 3300m. Best grown in a cool spot in a well drained soil with good light.
