A diminutive form of this creeping shrub which we collected on the island of Cheju-Dõ, South Korea. Where this Asiatic species formed dense prostrate mats of procumbent rooting stems clothed in opposite pairs of tiny leaves with undulating margins. With pairs of single upwardly-facing flowers in their leaf axils, followed by bright red rounded fruit. Best grown in cool shade, in a lime free leafy soil. Syn. f. quelpartensis.
