Small deciduous arching shrub with reddened stems, on this variety we collected seed of at the lower elevations of Fan Xi Pan, in North Vietnam, with Dan Hinkley in 1999. Bearing tri-lobed narrowly pointed thin textured leaves and branched racemes of sticky seed capsules, which had succeeded the white flowers.
