From the southern forests of Honshu Japan, an evergreen fern with bipinnately arranged fronds, consisting of narrowly ovate oblong prickly leaflets. With black-brown narrow scales on the stalks. Best in a moist acid-neutral soil full-part shade, height 30-45cm.
