One of my recent introductions, from moist grassland along side a fast flowing river near Da Xue Shan, Southern Sichuan. Small perennial forming compact rosettes of palmately lobed mottled dark green leaves, bearing on upright stems distinct to this variety, large (6cm) brilliant yellow open flowers, June-August. Best in a moist peaty, but well drained soil in sun or part shade.
