A slender twining climber arising from tuberous roots, originating from North America, to 1.5m tall. Once rivalling the potato as a root vegetable as it can multiply well if happy. Bearing soft pinnate foliage with in late summer dense terminal spikes of maroon/fawn curiously shaped pea-flowers. Easily grown in any type of fertile soil with adequate drainage, while best growing into sun. *
