Description
A small species which is endemic to the remote island of Yakushima, where it is commonly found growing in the rain drenched forests scrambling and twining up small branches. With twining stems to only 30 cm tall with small heart shaped glossy leaves with undulating margins bearing pale blue striped funnel shaped flowers late summer into autumn, followed by curious aubergine coloured glossy seed capsules containing the black flat seed. Best grown in a moist environment in light shade with the support of small shrubs, in a humus rich drained soil.
